If this fall needed to be summed up in one hat, it is the Joy Beanie. I decided in August that knitting was making a return to the daily schedule. The HoM actually started with me making and selling crocheted hats out of our Brooklyn apartment (truth be told, also during a confusing time). The demands of kids and life had me set set it aside but the last few months have seen the knitting needles replacing the phone. The knitting basket has been my plus one on road trips, after school activities, and movie nights and it has been such a boost. It has become a more meditative art experiment than just keeping my hands busy. I keep thinking about the aunt that makes everyone ski sweaters and it’s not because you can’t buy one, it is because you can put love into every stitch. I want you to know your Aunt Cassie loves you very much.
The colors in this hat are meant to be an expression of your presence here on this planet, make it joyful and not to be missed.
